Professional activities:

I am a Fellow of Indian Academy of Sciences.

Since 1985, I have been regularly refereeing papers for the reputed international journals: (i) SIAM Journal on Computing, (ii) Journal of Algorithms, (iii) Algorithmica, (iv) Journal of Computational Geometry and Applications, (v) Information Processing Letters, (vi) Pattern Recognition Letters, (vii) Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, (viii) IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, (ix) Visual Computer, (x) Computational Geometry: Theory and Applications, (xi) Discrete Applied Mathematics, (xii) Theoretical Computer Science. I have also reviewed several papers for refereed conferences in India and abroad.

I have reviewed project proposals for the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and for Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research, New Delhi. I was an examiner for MS, M.Tech. and Ph.D. theses of IIT Madras, Kanpur, New Delhi and Bombay.

I chaired many sessions in the International Conferences. I gave lectures on my research work at many Institutes, Universities and Conferences in India and abroad.

Since 2008, I have been conducting (along with some computer scientists and mathematicians in India) a series of research promotion workshops of introductory lectures on graph and geometric algorithms for teachers and students (undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral) at colleges and universities at different locations in India.
