This program will help you make a (very basic) home page for
yourself. When you are done, you will receive an html file by email, along
with instructions on where to save the file and how to get it linked to
the TIFR page.
Instructions
-
Fill out the form on the left. When you click on the
SUBMIT button
at the end of the form, we will make a page and display it for you here.
The form will still be there on the left. You can modify it and submit
it again and again, until you are satisfied.
-
When you are happy with the page we display, click on the SEND button
at the bottom of the page. We will send you the html source of the
page by email, which you should save in the file public_html/index.html.
If you already have something in the file by this name, you should move
it out before storing the new page. For example:
-
You could rename the file index.html
as MyPage.html (everything
is under the public_html directory).
You could then enter the URL of MyPage.html
in the form, where it asks for the URL of your home page. This way, the
page we make (and you save in index.html)
will contain a link to your original home page.
Tips
-
Here is a sample form. (You can come back by
clicking on Instructions.)
-
Instead of filling out all the entries in the form, you can retrieve the
data from a page we made earlier:
(The present version does not
work well in Netscape. It opens up a new window instead of using the
existing right frame to display information. But one can still use it.)
