 est Bengal)\n\nAbstract: \nAbstract: Last few years have seen tremendous 
 progress in the development of technologies towards making of a quantum co
 mputer. Number of qubits in the systems are increasing day by day\, and th
 ereby quantum algorithm implementations are scaling up big time. Amidst th
 is turmoil\, the fate of cryptography is worth investigating. It is now a 
 popular news that public key crypto-systems are broken by quantum algorith
 ms and thereby most of the state-of-the art key agreement protocols are de
 ad. Meanwhile\, Quantum key distribution comes to rescue classical key agr
 eement and thereby opens a new paradigm of quantum cryptography. Simultane
 ously\, a lot of research is being performed during the last couple of yea
 rs on the application of quantum tools to attack classical algorithms. In 
 this talk\, we will walk through the interesting interplay of classical an
 d quantum cryptography\, and critically analyze their role as competitors 
 as well as collaborators.\n\nBio: Dr. Goutam Paul completed his Bachelor d
 egree in Computer Engineering from IIEST Shibpur\; Master degree in Comput
 er Science from State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany\, U.S.A.\; a
 nd Ph.D. in Cryptology from Indian Statistical Institute. From 2006 to 201
 3\, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Compute Science and
  Engineering of Jadavpur University\, Kolkata\, India. Currently\, Dr. Pau
 l is serving as an Associate Professor at Cryptology and Security Research
  Unit of Indian Statistical Institute\, Kolkata. Dr. Paul received the pre
 stigious Alexander von Humboldt Award in 2012 and thereby visited the Inst
 itute for Communication Technologies and Embedded Systems (ICE) at RWTH Aa
 chen University\, Germany as a guest scientist for one year. In 2013 Dr. P
 aul has received the Young Scientist Award from the National Academy of Sc
 iences\, India (NASI). Dr. Paul's research area is Classical and Quantum C
 ryptography.\n
