 ral attempts have been made to decipher the script but there is no consens
 us about its content. The lack of definite knowledge about its structure m
 akes it difficult to objectively evaluate any claim of decipherment. We ha
 ve tried to fill this lacuna by analyzing the syntax of the script in deta
 il. The focus of our study is to identify patterns in the Indus writing an
 d explore its underlying logic without making any assumptions about its co
 ntent. In the present talk\, I will give an overview of our work on the st
 ructure of the Indus script using various techniques related to computatio
 nal linguistics.\n
