Outstation participants will be paid round trip 3AC tickets for their travel to Mumbai and from, via the shortest route from their place of residence (this is address of correspondence that you would have given in the application form) to Mumbai. In particular, participants who might take a flight for their trip would also only be reimbursed for the cost of a 3AC train ticket. We will also reimburse the cost of a taxi from the railway station or airport in Mumbai to the TIFR campus.
You will need to submit the tickets, boarding passes (please keep the boarding passes if you are flying) and booking details for the reimbursement. For participants taking a flight, we would also need a screenshot from IRCTC that includes the cost of 3AC Train fare.
For reimbursement of the taxi fare for local travel from airport/station to TIFR, we will need a payment receipt for the cab. For instance, a receipt from Uber/Ola/Rapido for the trip will work well.
Participants will also be provided accommodation on-campus in the institute guest house and the student hostel (on a twin-sharing basis). Please note the following arrival and departure windows.
The participants are expected to arrive on Sunday 5th July 2026 at the guest house (Allow 45 min travel time from CSMT railway station to TIFR, and 1h 30m travel time from the Mumbai airport to TIFR).
The participants are expected to vacate their rooms on Saturday 18th July 2026 before 0900 hrs. However, there will be a place to store the luggage on that day.
Food expenses will also be taken care of by TIFR (most likely via coupons that can be used for meals in the canteens).
Take your taxi to Ramanujan Guest House (GH). VV accommodation is
either in the Ramanujan GH, or in a nearby hostel (postdoc apartment
flats in Brahmagupta Building). Your taxi can take you and your
luggage to Brahmagupta (approx. 150 m from the GH) if needed.
