Deepesh Data, a former graduate student at the School of Technology and Computer Science and currently a post-doctorate researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles, has been selected for an Honourable Mention under the ACM India 2019 Doctoral Dissertation Award, for his thesis titled "Communication Complexity and Characterization Results in Secure Computation", under the supervision of Professor Vinod Prabhakaran

The ACM India Doctoral Dissertation Award was established in 2011. This award recognises the best doctoral dissertation from a degree-awarding institution based in India for each academic year, running from August 1 of one year to July 31 of the following year.
